DISH Women’s Network CampaigN
Closing the gender gap
Our campaign for DISH Women’s Network pays homage to the energy and creativity of women in the workforce, while tasking us with improving awareness and participation among male coworkers. Our concept celebrates the men and women of DISH Women’s Network, showing that we’re always stronger when we’re united.
“I want to raise [my daughters] to believe that nothing is impossible and that they should pursue their dreams with reckless abandon. The very thought that... any playing field they wish to compete on later is not fair to start with – that is completely and utterly unacceptable.” Thang reminds us that it’s everyone’s responsibility to advocate for gender equality. Rachel talks about her favorite DWN memory, when she met a woman she didn’t think she would have a strong connection with. “Over several conversations, I discovered a strong-minded, savvy woman... with a level of wisdom and compassion that far exceeded what I would expect to find in someone so young.” Her story is a good reminder of the valuable connections we can make when we stay open-minded and reject our biases. How do you promote inclusion in your day-to-day?

Orchestra companies saw their female member percentage jump from 5% to 25% when they switched to blind auditions. Similarly, institutions using a double-blind method to review studies increased the number of women who got published. Gender bias is still prevalent in all fields, and it’s up to all of us to work toward dismantling it. Get involved today at www.dishwomensnetwork.com.

A 2018 study by McKinsey & Company found that companies in the top quartile for gender diversity on their executive teams were 21% more likely to experience above-average profitability.
